Principals

Charles Loengard, President/CIO
Charles has over two decades of experience in technology and business, with the last decade spent at the intersection of software and business strategy. Charles has been involved with business application development for well over a decade, including work at Viacom/MTV for various channel groups, designing and implementing usable client-server systems for project management, archiving and accounting. The system design he produced was ultimately used as a model for an internal $1.5 million system. He has held the position of consulting CTO to KoolConnect, a digital media company distributing first-run Hollywood films to the hospitality industry. He has led Lioncom for over five years as its CEO, leading seven-figure product initiatives and advising others on theirs, including early investors in Skype. He is also currently working with numerous Web 2.0 startups in the financial, consumer, and technology verticals. He gained hands-on experience with a range of technology systems during earlier ventures and positions, including training as a naval fighter pilot, working in the aviation industry, developing entrepreneurial ventures in transportation technology, and trading currency at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Charles holds a BA from Columbia University, and has been involved in the Columbia CTA program (an advanced Computer Science program). He has served as a technology advisor to Columbia’s School of General Studies.

Programming Staff
Staff members bring a vast range of programming experience to bear, with some members having over 30 years of experience in the field. The emphasis is on designing simple, practical software architectures that are never more complex than required. One member was the principal architect of a complete operating system called HTS, including design of a C-like variant of Fortran, which shared many characteristics of Unix but was developed independently before Unix was publicly available. Members were also the principal developers of IDRAW, an AutoCAD competitor. They also created Xedit, a programmer’s tool, which has been sold on minis, UNIX workstations, and PCs. Staff have been heavily involved with interface and diagnostic software for a wide range of peripheral and communication equipment hardware over many years. PSE&G, the public utility of the State of New Jersey, still uses a system one staff member designed to perform electrical energy load flow analysis on their short- and long-haul high tension power lines. They were also responsible for creating a complete product for rating structured finance products used by a major US financial market participant.
